K-90 Identification

We ended up with a K-90 with the last batch of G Bugles we recieved.

As I was cleaning it I noticed it has rope marks on the bell. This is a pretty well battle scarred Contra. Is there a serial number registry to find out what Corps this horn started out with?

The Front Brace is a real heavy duty looking thing that to my suprise is actually silver plated. I first thought someone had just added a hunk of steel.

Could this be a Star of Indiana Contra?

The rope marks sure make it SOUND like a Star horn...and they DID use the same inventory for their entire time on the field. The front brace may have been a field modification....the braces on the K-90 were about the only weak thihng about that horn.

I don;t know of any serial # registry for the King bugles...I tried to find one when I got my K-20 a few years back...no joy there.
