phantomws
why'd you need a police escort? Because it's about a seven or eight hour drive from Minneapolis to Rockford and we had five or six hours to do it.
bass5
I was there in the summer of 1976 when the Scouts were told that the whole show was being thrown out and we'd be starting over with some new music and some old music (to be learned on Western Tour) and an entirely new drill (to be learned when we returned). What an age out year, 2 shows for the price of one.

skajerk
I'm guessing that fsubones means WC and Open. Phantom and Vanguard Cadets both won after taking 2nd in semis. Edited December 5, 2008 by skajerk
TrainWreck
I was there when Star of Indiana beat Blue Devils for the first time; 1989 Pacific Procession I was there when Freelancers, Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, Commodores Alumni, Blue Devils Alumni played the Naval Hymn in honor of Jim Ott; 1980 Precision West I was there when Vanguard won their own show I was there when Mandarins was the little corps with pink uniforms competing against the Blue Devils B corps I was there when the 1981 Blue Devils Guard Uniforms were unveiled. Talk about a dramatic change. I was there when Vanguard ended their show quietly; 1983. I was there when Freelancers made a loud and bold statement at the 1981 Evaluation Show that they intended to make finals. I was there when Freelancers did not make 81 Midwest Finals. A reality check for the corps. I was there when Suncoast Sound shocked corpsdom with an incredible hornline and show in 1983. I was there when the Blue Devils hornline was at ensemble rehearsal and the drum line wasn't. Something about a movie . 84BDsop
[*]I was there when Vanguard won their own show *sigh* I remember that one, too...and all the poor guys who'd come over from SCV STILL hadn't won that show!!!
corpsreps
I was there in 1975 when the Muchachos were disqualified. I was there in 2008 when my son won a DCI championship. I was there for a whole lot in between.
