Best duets?

Recommended Posts

Also I happen to really like the short trumpet duet in Cadets 2006, though the finals recording wasn't their best.

Calling Chris "The Lazer"... but yea, having do that killer drill and then step out for that little duet then jump back in...crazy.

Not really a duet in the musical sense but the bluesy call and response section between the BD soloist and the colorguard and rest of the hornline in 2004 was AWESOME.

San Francisco's legendary KJAZ radio was only about 30 miles away from Concord...

There were jazz influences even closer to the corps. One of the corps' neighbors (and friends) was the Concord Jazz record label. To quote the corps' web site, "The Blue Devils thank the late Carl Jefferson of Concord Jazz for giving us the idea for the jazz theme that continued for all these years."

Wow! How could I have forgotten Concord Jazz!?

I even mentioned Rosemary Clooney who sang on the label - I've got old LP recordings by Stan Getz, Art Blakey and Byrd from BITD!

Thank you for that great walk down memory lane!

BD featured a couple of baris doing the Dindi duet in '81.

Pretty good as well.

'78 featured a sop and mello duet in Legend that was pretty impressive.

'79 Guardsmen had that amazing sop duet in TOSP.

Oh, everyone forgot the Scouts dueling xylophones from '75.

Lots of good suggestions here, but I have to say that SCV 1988. All the solos, duets, etc were much better than the '89 versions.

Gotta through out a little love for a duet I enjoyed listening to all summer in 1988.

Jay Wise on Baritone and Steve Wyclaw on soprano in the Bluecoats 1988 Take Five
