lameisrob
Theatres will never give up Saturday nights for one five-hour event. The longer they show current releases, the more percentage of ticket sales they get to keep. Also, one crowd in one theatre will not spend as much at the concession as two, possibly three crowds would spend. A finals cinecast would also destroy quarterfinals audience DCI has been successfully building over the years. Waiting for DVDs creates demand, which sells more DVDs. I also think DCI is hurting live finals ticket sales when the price point is $125 for a premium seat (which if you're not a Friend of DCI, really isn't that prime).
