mellomomma
No news about whether they will perform tonight. They are rehearsing today for sure still leaving the sick ones behind to rest and recuperate. Don't know yet how many stayed behind today. skajerk
Thoughts and prayers to the kids and staff. Take care.Hey, about the Texas gig, isn't it hotter then blazzin' saddles right now? We've been dealing with intense heat here and heat indexes. There have even been laws enacted in sports in Tennessee where they can't practice after a certain heat index. I'm just wondering out loud because the extreme heat can cause heat exhaustion and wonder what kind of percautions drum corps take these days since they do such intense drills etc. I'm glad to see the director is keeping them safe and family and friends infhttp://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/index.php?act=Post&CODE=02&f=3&t=126992&qpid=2582871ormed. Don't know about Dallas but down here in the Houston area the highs have been at or over 100º with the heat index pushing 107-108º). A "cooling" trend is supposed to start tomorrow with temps dropping to the mid 90s (with the heat index at around 102-103º) and lows in the 70s. Problem is, the lows here usually occur between 11pm and 7am. Best wishes to the kids in Crown. Hope you're back on your feet (literally) soon and doing what you love and what we love to watch. Yeah we've finally gotten a break in the hot temps today with some much needed rain but tomorrow it's suppose to be high heat indexes again and next week woo hoo back down to the low 90s! Jeff DeMello
I hope it's just a simple virus running through the corps. BD 82 had some type of flu that took us out of a show and we came back strong. Get well soon and good luck. Looking forward to seeing you in Indi. We had the same thing happen in '77 (?) BD ... took out 1/2 the corps for a few days! Those who weren't sick did an exhibition show instead of a judged show, and spent the rest of the time "sanitizing" the busses!
