jetman1287
So tough to manage...I can't watch more than a show or two before the buttons become unresponsive and I have to re-load the FN home page all over again. Often when watching the show the "play/pause" button will get out of whack and you have to re-load the page as well. (Player acts as if it is paused with the corps moving, hit play and it'll reset the video). Running Firefox 3.5 with all the flash updates. Plus choppiness during the live broadcast. Weird, because it's the same player they've been using for years.

Check Video Memory...What is your video card? How much RAM does the video card have? if integrated on-board then you may have problems due to your hard drive being too full..Space? 2. System RAM not adequate for operating system? XP or Vista? Vista uses more memory....You may consider turning off unnecessary programs running in background etc. under run/search type msconfig and goto startup programs...uncheck them. 3. You may consider trying using Google chrome just a little bit faster than firefox. 4. Has your internet speed changed that you are not aware of perhaps? goto speakeasy.net to test this... 5. I have also found the Divx codec to work wonders with video problems...free at divx.com 6. Last time you defragged your hard drive? 7. hopefully your not experiencing any browser hijacks your not aware of?...virus scan? hope any of these help. Thanks for the advice Only thing would be defragging in a while...HD space is about 7-8% so it does not allow me to do so. Not much video on a laptop but I never had these problems in the past. Running Windows XP. I'm sure it's not a virus. My main issues were - choppiness during Cadets broadcast only, and audio issues while the retreat was going on. jetman1287
8% of what total size? Yeah. Lame 80 GB
Liahona
Yeah. Lame 80 GB You might consider moving some stuff to an external hard drive? BUT if you only experienced the problem with Cadets...then maybe that is an unnecessary step...it's never a good sign when you have so much stuff that you can't defrag...I feel your pain...I used to do everything on my laptop up till April of this year....bought a desktop...I just bought a netbook and it has video issues also...The netbooks are horrible for video renderering...don't buy one and expect to watch drumcorps videos! skajerk
I've had no problems watching TFN with either my tablet or my desk top computers.
audiodb
Only thing would be defragging in a while...HD space is about 7-8% so it does not allow me to do so. If your HD is that full, maybe that's the problem. First thing I'd do is get enough free space to pemit defrag. (Second thing I'd do is the defrag....) ssnapier
I would absolutely look at moving some stuff off of that drive. You might also check some of the behind the scenes things like paging file management, and storage of temp. internet files. I have not had one hiccup with TFN this year, and I have used the heck out of it! Have you tried running anything like Dr. TCP from broadband reports? You might find some tweaks available to allow you to get better throughput too. I am just spit balling here, but these are all common issues/ suggestions. You really never want to go below 15% free space, it causes windows to do some freaky things. If you were one of my Army buddies I would start with delete all your porn, but I won't go there... profhill
I have the same issues with playing videos on Firefox. I asked DCI what to do. They said they were aware of the problem, and were trying to fix it. They suggested using Internet Explorer. So the unresponsive key thing isn't you, it's a problem with the site while using Firefox. The streaming videos I have never had a problem with.
