kevingamin
Nice fortepiano from the trumpets as we move into the close of Appalachian Morning. Fast paced rotating block finishes the piece. Baritone duet, followed by trumpet/mellophone duet opens the second piece. Nice chord backfield from the horns!
kevingamin
Very lush sounds coming from the horns as they play their ballad backfield. Guard on salmon colored flags. Very bold color against the blue uniforms they wear. Horns back front, in an arc and kneeling as they play the main theme of the ballad. kevingamin
Really? They're playing the song from the DeBeers' diamond commercials? Great low notes from the tubas, trading off with the percussion.
kevingamin
Percussion break. Quick and loud. Now pit is playing the melody. Horns come back in, building the tension of the piece.
kevingamin
Nice park and blow moment, now some killer drill as we move into another drum break. Horns all in a tight form on Side 2 to close out the piece.
kevingamin
Closer begins with dueling snares. Rest of the drums join in one by one. Trumpet/mello duet on the front side line. Great silver iridescent flags for the guard.
kevingamin
Horns and cymbals in a company front formation, standing with feet spread and leaning as they play the big hit to lead into the final moments of the show. Tight rotating drill moves by the horns, very demanding! Great show!
kevingamin
Next on the field is Legends from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Their 2009 program is entitled "Incrementum" and consists of: Daphnis and Chloé by Ravel, Maurice
kevingamin
I like the horn sound I just got from the warmup. Play with that sound the whole show, folks!
