Phantombari1
I'm curious what impact Madisons new staff will have on other corps in terms of drawing talent away...I don't expect a significant impact for at least a year but with the recent Changes to the Cavaliers line up I expect the Cavies to lose more talent to Madison than anyone. What does everyone else think?
Abbevillekid26
I don't expect a significant impact for...a very long time, if ever. Sorry I love Madison and I'm excited for them, and plan to audition there this year, but most of the people I know who know about drum corps have no idea about Madison's staff changes nor really care. I hope I'm wrong but I REALLY doubt that Madison would be stealing the Cavies' talent.
xbones7480
I don't expect the announcements to draw more new members. Sorry.
Guard-ian
I agree. The current college freshman was born in 1991. When the Star staff was in its heyday. I'm willing to bet that many of them never even heard of Star.
bmroth1
Well, I know it's helped with retention if nothing else. I know of a memeber who was going to audition elsewhere who has now changed his mind.
kickhaltsforlife
Which is a sad sad thing... if it says anything though... I was born in 88 and I know a lot about star.. I knew a lot before I actually became involved in corps, and didn't know DCI existed until 2003. I also had a band director who has most of the legacy collection... bless his soul. kickhaltsforlife
really it's too early to tell the effect it will have on madison. It will be a positive one for sure. It's just how positive... we won't know until a few shows out! But not speculating and debating would make DCP offseason BORING... so debate away, I love reading the crazy theories and calculated chances of being in whatever place at finals... Captncontra
I disagree with most of the posters here. I think it'll be a big draw, especially if the show designs improve drastically over the next few seasons. When I was in high school, my band director was instrumental in helping me choose where to march. Who was directing, designers, brass techs, we took it all into consideration. The people that are serious about music and their education will be looking at these things.
