Jim Nevermann
It's December already so I know all your shows are well into development. However, I just today got this link from a friend... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEdVfyt-mLw ...and, with those bright pink exam gloves and hospital environment as a unifying theme, I wondered right-off if there was a potential show here --an upbeat, positive, support for breast cancer awareness, including non-contest performances at your area basketball halftimes [in conjunction with area hospitals for fund raising?]. Obviously, a guard show on this subject would have to be very carefully and tastefully worked out. Yet the happy, light-hearted approach in this video, to me, suggests that the hyper-creative world of winter guard could tackle it as well. I teach and perform with 2nd Wind adult drumline near Seattle and have no involvement at all with winter guards* other than that I know they compete out here. Still, the related elements in this video immediately jumped out at me. *OK... I did march flag one season with a Wichita KS corps' summer competition guard in 1967. ATXguard
It was done by a few guards last year, and done quite tastefully.
Jim Nevermann
It was done by a few guards last year, and done quite tastefully. I'm always the last to know such things. :-/ Thanks, though. Edited December 8, 2009 by Jim Nevermann
