The Vanguard yell during SCV 04 (best Vanguard yell ever)

Bluecoat's brass choir section in 08

Not in a show, but sitting in the stands when scores were announced in 08

Not in a show, but when Hop took The Cadets off the field at quarters in 07 (I'll never forget how I felt at that moment)

The submarine section of Cavaliers 04

First hit of Crown 08 (best Crown show ever)

When Carmen was revealed in Madison 05

There can be more than one 'legendary" moment in a decade for sure, so here is what I think will be remembered:

2007 Crown: this was the year when they really showed us what they are capable of.

Scott Dean: Beastly trumpet playing. One of the few modern soloists we know by name.

2006 Cavaliers: great, innovative drill moves.

2000 Cadets: Great moments in the show all around.

2009 Crown: Puck dance break = great GE moment and lots of fun!

And I think the true legendary moments of the 00 decade are:

The year 2000 in general. First year of Bb horns.

2002 Cavaliers: First corps to 99.15! Amazing drill, brass, and percussion.

The 2008 Phantom DM stab. One of the greatest show endings/GE moments of all time, it could really set a trend for DM/crowd interaction in the future.

Capital Regiment was in div 3 in '99 and '00, then Div 2 in '01 and '02, then Div 1 in '03-06 before they went inactive the first time for 2 years, returning to Open Class for '09, and going inactive again for this upcoming season.

Wo, did I miss something? Cap Reg is inactive in 2010?

My favorite moments that come to mind:

#1: Playing the Boxer hit at finals.

#2: 2008 Finals retreat. Best. Night. Ever.

#3: Beating the Cavaliers and Blue Devils in the same night.

And the rest:

Cadets 2000. Overhyped horn move. You know what I'm talking about.

Cavaliers. I love that corps.

2008 - Jumping shenanigans

2006 - Snare guy at the end

2005 - I loved the baseball thing

2004 - Missed release by trumpet player... "NO!!"

2002 - 2 lines become 4. Magic!

Blue Devils 2004, that hornline was amazing. Mr. Scott Dean and the other guy (sorry other guy, don't know your name!) were AWESOME.

Cadets 2005. The door bell, the ballad, Liquid.

Bluecoats getting 4th. I was quite happy when I heard about it.

Crown doing what the Bluecoats could not, and being extremely jealous for a little while.

Crown 2008. I hated it during the season, but love listening to it now (except that tuba "feature"... I still don't like that). That opening statement is just fun to listen to in the mornings.

Care to elaborate?

Competively, things worked out nicely in my mind. Phantom wins, Bluecoats beat Vanguard, Crown didn't beat the Cavaliers...

I had a great time with my fellow Bluecoats on that field. The crowd was awesome, doing the wave, being exciting. I got to see my family and hang out with them. In my perspective as a member of the 2008 Bluecoats, our work payed off. Our rough times became worth it. That summer is my favorite summer that i have marched (so far) because of the bonds I made, the hard work we put in to the show, and how all of that came together in the last week, peaking in Bloomington on that Saturday night. I have no negative memories from that night.

Many people can say that ATB was an abomination (and it was) but I didn't care until later. I cared when I didn't get a retreat this past August. Nothing from Finals retreat in 2009 was right, as far as production. Hated it... Loathe may be a more accurate description, actually. I pray they do not repeat it.

Hope this helps.
