DCPI-13 Here We Go!

Recommended Posts

btw - this is the visitors side of the stadium. the home side is still a really cool covered stadium.

Yeah, but it's also the larger side- and the best picture I could find.

It's not just a show day, it's a BIG show day as corps will be entering some of the largest venues thus far on tour.

In the midwest, Columbia MO's Faurot Field plays host to more than 20 corps. HMO will be staging this mass gathering of corps.

Out west, corps depart the US and begin a swing of western Canada, starting in Vancouver's BC Place Stadium, which will also serve as the site of opening and closing ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics

In the east, Rochester's Marina Auto Stadium, frequent recent host of DCA and CLASS Championships, serves as the stage for some stiff competition in Kadence's home show

And down south, corps travel to Tuscaloosa's Bryant Denny Stadium, home of the University of Alabama. The tide will be rolling as more than 15 corps take the field in this football Taj Mahal:

What is it about big show weekends that make scores drop 2 points? I thought this was supposed to be FANTASY corps, not REAL LIFE corps

No shows on Sunday, but all 4 regions will feature shows on Martin Luther King Day.

Out west, corps head to the Great White North to Adair-Kennedy Stadium in Juneau AK. It's a small stadium, but has some of the best scenery you'll ever see:

In the east, eastern corps begin their swing up through Canada, starting at McMaster University's Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton ONT:

In the midwest, corps visit the reknowned Reitz Bowl in Evansville IN, recently refurbished with artificial turf:

And in the southland, corps make the journey through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee up to Kingsport's Dobyns-Bennett High School:

All corps in play tonight although I think most wished they were elsewhere.

Hawaii is in balmy Juneau which as it looks now will be rain/snow 30 degree mix for at Adair-Kennedy Stadium. Practice High School gym looks to hold 70 ppl tops.

Cross will be McMaster U for another showdown with Raincross in....yup... 31 degree snow mix.

Jupiter go the best of it.. 36 and no snow in Kingsport, TN. So will the play "Rocky Top" between corps performances tonight?

Only if they want a hefty fine from the DCP-I Main Office

Only if they want a hefty fine from the DCP-I Main Office

And only if they want to ensure that DCPI never goes anywhere east of Nashville ever again.

Hopefully we'll have some warmer weather at tomorrow's contests. Tuesday's theme is Back to College, since all three events are being held at college stadiums.

Western corps have a day off to make their way out of the REAL frozen tundra.

Southern corps depart Tennessee for the campus of Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs NC.

Midwest corps won't be too far away, as they head to Murray State University in western Kentucky:

Finally, Eastern corps complete the university homecoming with a visit to Queen University's Richardson Stadium in Kingston ONT:

Oh man I've been so busy with life and auditions I haven't checked in here yet :wall:

So anyways, Firebird is sitting 19th overall in World Class right now, but we are placing 5th overall in music :inlove: We are going to let the show sit as is for a while and just let the corps members work at improving the visual parts before we make any changes.

Firebird Cadets are sitting 21st overall in Open Class, 10th in music. The design team is already considering what changes need to be made to improve the show and let the kids perform at their best.

Our newly renamed Rocky Mountain Regiment is coming in 16th overall in Class A, 2nd in music. This is a huge leap for the corps from last season :wall:

congrats to all the kids for their hard work.

No shows for the CODCE corps tomorrow, which means its time for a nice long rehearsal day  but on Thursday we roll into Charleston, SC as the Grand Tour 2010 continues.

See you all on the field!

Nice numbers coming in tonight. Star of Jupiter over 75, Inland Empire over 70. Those groups could be hard to keep up with.

Tomorrow is DCPI- Canada edition with two events north of the border. The big show takes place out west in Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium. At 60,000 plus seats, it's the second largest stadium in Canada.

Out east, corps head to the much smaller, but no less hospitable Bishop's University, the only stadium we know of that has its own party deck in the grandstands. Corps should definitely expect a lively audience for this event:

small stadiums in Canada are great! It's the only 4-D fan experience corps can get on tour :wall:

THANK YOU CANADA :inlove:
