byline
Do you mean "within the season?" or from one season to the next? Given the two examples the OP cited, it looks to me like it's from one season to the next (not within the same season).

skajerk
However, the biggest fall AND comeback has to be 27th Lancers: 1973- 7th 1974- 20th 1975- 5th

Imperial
One good thing is that today, dropping out of the top 12 is not necessarily a death sentence for a corps, or at best a huge drop. Look at Madison, Spirit, Colts, Blue Knights.
Bob984
One good thing is that today, dropping out of the top 12 is not necessarily a death sentence for a corps, or at best a huge drop. Look at Madison, Spirit, Colts, Blue Knights. That is a good thing......I think the attitude and response of corps who miss the cut is much better than before. There are only 12 spots in finals, and good corps are going to miss the cut. I felt for the Colts last year....very good and worthy of a finals spot.....I actually would have loved to see a 12th place tie and 13 in finals.......however, the Colts handled things with much dignity and class............I also think that we are continuing to develop quite a bit of competitive "depth", and I wouldn't be surprised to see a season where corps form 9th to 17th have all beaten each other during the season, and the battle for finals is even more interesting than the battle for the title. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a year in the not too distant future where 9th - 17th is only 3 points. GB
Drumss
As far as a fall within the same season.... didn't the Garfield Cadets start off very strongly in 1976, then mysteriously not make finals that year?

Joe Salvatore
Yes, 27th was 4th in 1975... I was just posting about that and would love some insights into 27th Lancers 1974 season. See post "27th Lancers 1974 - What Happened?" Thanks all!

Yes. They got robbed, IMO. Fran
