Dave Scott
I marched with several of these guys in the Chicago Royal-Airs Reunion Corps and can confirm they are all great players! Add the talented Chuck Naffier to the mix as arranger and you can expect a terrific show. Good luck at DCA SineWave!!
toneslinky
Hey! You forgot Blue Rock (OK - only for one year...) We are having a great time getting together again and performing. We have 7 trumpets, 3 mellos, 6 baris, 2 tubas, and 2 drummers. We are still looking for an additional tuba. We have been practicing about every six weeks and will be kicking it up in May. The show consists of Sherry, Walk Like a Man, a medley of My Eyes Adored You/Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You, and finishes with Who Loves You Pretty Baby. Chuck has done a great job arranging the charts! We are gearing up for our first year and are really looking forward to performing in Rochester! Hey great ! check out the SDCA. I think they are in your area. it'll give you a chance to get the bugs out. Oh and post your schedule too.

toneslinky
Chicago-land’s SineWave Brass will venture into DCA mini-corps competition in its inaugural season. Led by music arranger, Chuck Naffier, SineWave’s ranks claim Midwest Jr. corps alums from The Cavaliers, Madison Scouts, Des Plaines Vanguard, Royal Airs, Blue Stars, Colts and Norwood Park Imperials, who will be performing selections from the Broadway musical, Jersey Boys. For more information about SineWave, or if you are the third tuba player we’re looking for, email Don. Just a heads up..I think to be in the DCA mini show you need to currently have or had a corps that participated in a DCA show. I remember the Vanguard Senior corps in competition..and the Royal Airs played in the Alumni show.

Chuck Naffier himself ... haven't seen you online in quite some time ... and in person even longer ... probably DCI East in 98 when you were with the Colts ...Hope all is well ... Andy "yeah, that guy from Sky" Lisko Andy! Not true ... several Mini's through the year had no affilation with DCA other than some of their members marching with corps at one time or another ... :-)

They did DCA in like 1965? maybe - bunch of old f*rts...
ajlisko
Like Mass Brass? They did DCA in like 1965? maybe - bunch of old f*rts... Exactly! ... well, maybe not 65 ... Mass Brass, Nu Brass, Golden Eagles, Ghost Riders, Star United, Pembroke Imperials, etc. were never "formal" DCA Corps competitors but, have all enjoyed competing in the Mini Corps contest ... See you in Bridgeport Fallon? Everything is being run at the Holiday Inn this year ... :-)
