Stu
maybe if you guys went to more of your college classes ... This was the best intelligent response you could muster? Then you would know that the OP's GPA for the semester is 100% irrelevant and will not follow them anywhere as long as they pass. Those that actually acquire a high level of success in careers such as Engineering, Medical, Science, and Music do not view getting a C as passing; they view it as a 30 percent failure rate. So why chose a University, or a Drum Corps for that matter, which encourages students to just pass with a C and call that grade irrelevant? I personally would not want that person as a band director or a medical doctor.

The reason the grade won't impact the OP's GPA is because that isn't their university.....They're transferring the credits back to Australia, so as long as it's a pass....the credits transfer but the grades don't. Stu
The reason the grade won't impact the OP's GPA is because that isn't their university.....They're transferring the credits back to Australia, so as long as it's a pass....the credits transfer but the grades don't. I am not referring to how the institution considers transfer credits, but how the individual evaluates what is considered an acceptable grade to earn in a given course of study. If an individual personally considers that a grade of C as an acceptable passing grade to accomplish another task, then I would not want that person to instruct band, become a medical doctor, or an engineer, or choose any number of other professional careers in which we have to put our trust in that person to always do their best. kauliflower
If you want to speak in absolutes and say that person is only a professional when everything in their life is tailored to the highest level of dedication and performance in their chosen profession, then sure. But if I may just speak for myself, I don't want my occupation to be the entirety of my life and I think it is important that our professionals are multi-faceted. It would certainly help with getting our various industries working together more efficiently. Time to close methinks.
