jonomaphone
So, decades of corps, thousands of tunes arranged...the question: Is there a corps arrangement that you think is better than the original? This can either be because the original was crap (alot of the pop arranged) or the corps arrangement delivers the themes and emotions in a better way than any recording you've heard. Discuss. gimpy
I generally like Metheney music much better when it's being performed by a corps.

DanjrusMcRynky
Russian Christmas Music. The original really drags along, and always tends to feel very lethargic IMO. SCV 87 and 2005 were much better, if only because of the picked up tempos. Another I can think of is Scheherezade in 2004. Casella's percussion arrangements really added another element to the piece. Where most percussion books are just parts to go on behind the horns, essentially just so that the battery has something to play, he created something that was actually extremely crucial to the power and emotion portrayed that year.
