Carolina09Spirit
For Those of You Who Attended DCI Atlanta Last NightWho Had the Loudest Hornline ? I don't know...hard decision. I must say Scouts brought it though! Had the biggest standing O in my opinion.

BDCorno
For Those of You Who Attended DCI Atlanta Last NightWho Had the Loudest Hornline ? How can anyone know for sure, with all the synth reinforcement behind the impact points?
DCI dad
From the 45 yrd line in club level: Loudest hornlines were... Madison Scouts Carolina Crown Blue Devils Bluecoats in no particular order.

From the top row at the 50--I tend to agree. I've been wondering about this topic. Usually, for the quarterfinals we get seats in the "blast zone". I'm thinking about this year taking a sound level meter and measuring some of the loudest moments in the corps shows. Think I'll have problems--security thinking I'm recording the show, etc.? Also, it only goes up to 126 dB--not enough range?

Also, it only goes up to 126 dB--not enough range? I've done this in the past (that's what happens when you work for your parents who happen to be audiologists: you get easy access to the toys!). The highest I recorded was 112 dB, but it was a mid-season show before full end of season dynamics were in and I was several rows back. I think 126 dB should be fine unless you're checking levels in the lot. If you do go ahead with your project, please report your results. I'd be fascinated to see what you find. WOOHOO
As far as amount of volume produced (without concern for tone quality), probably Boston Crusaders. Don't understand what they are doing. As far as good volume, probably Carolina Crown or Blue Devils. Boy, they can both play.
