madalumni
yeah, if it's just smith arranging the works of good composers, it will probably be good. if it's original music...um.... I have a feeling we're safe there. I've heard a couple of the show ideas, and none of them involve original music. On that note, I'd love to hear what the Scouts could do with "Los Hermanos de Bop"! idel
Who wrote Madison's drill in the late 80s and throughout the 90s?
Zeke
Who wrote Madison's drill in the late 80s and throughout the 90s? I'm not 100% sure, but I believe Todd Ryan wrote Drill for Madison in the Later 80's then he joined the Visual Staff at Star.
madalumni
Who wrote Madison's drill in the late 80s and throughout the 90s? There have been several Madison drill writers...Doug Tholo wrote 84-87, Todd Ryan wrote 88 and 89, but left for Star before the 89 tour, so was not there to do re-writes or cleaning...if he had been we might have climbed a spot or two. Jeff Schultz wrote 90-92 (probably the most improved writer in that time) Mike Voves wrote 93, Mike Loeffelholz wrote through the rest of the 90s with co-writing from Bill Zeier and Dave Koelz. bill
Dave (Koelz) has been writing the visual for The Kilties the last three years. What a excellent designer, teacher, and all around one of the classiest and "good guys" of the activity. In addition, Todd came back and wrote drill for Santos in 94, before leaving for Concord. But, most of that was re-written by Loeffelholz. I'm sure that there were a few drill charts in the final '94 show that Todd wrote. Edited November 26, 2010 by MaestroBen

idel
Cool, thanks! I always wondered that. I knew Todd Ryan was the caption head in 88 when they won but I didn't know he also wrote the drill that year.
