kevingamin
Dave and Carol Eddlemen are up in the box with us. Always good to see them!
kevingamin
Baritone soloist at the start of the show is playing from the back hash on the 30. Long way to project his sound, but he sounds great! Horns play Ride of the Valkyries marching across the field in a company front, then turn foward on the 50 and come forward, hitting us with their sound. kevingamin
After the intro, the horns all lean over as if they're asleep on their feet. Drum major turns around and says to the crowd: "I forgot. This is usually their nap time!"
kansasDC
Just wanted to say Good Luck to my cousin, Dwayne Barnes, and his Carolina Gold tonight!! Rock the house, folks!!!
kevingamin
William Tell Overture. After playing the main theme of the piece, the drum line has a feature. Anybody remember Bridgemen playing this in the '70s and doing that wicked soprano/mellophone 16th note run? Kilties just did that.
kevingamin
Bohemian Rhapsody. Small ensemble of horns coming up front as the horn line proper plays the start of the show. Baritone soloist has incredibly good tone for playing in such a high register. Almost sounds like a mellophone except the tone is so dark. kevingamin
Jam session time during Bohemian. Horns now form a company front on the front hash, then belt us with their sound!
kevingamin
Mellophones have a lot of trills this year. They must love it.

kevingamin
Bacchanale. Mellophone duet plays the melody, the the horn line repeats. Mellophones have a lot of great parts in this show.
