The last drum corps show I judged was in 1990. I did PA and Jomba did execution.

I didn't realize it had been 20 years for you Mike - why don't you do the DC shows now?

So - here's a challenge - if anyone wants to take this a step further:

rank the afore-mentioned 1 - 10 as instructors, then 1 - 10 as judges.

It's just opinion. My 10 might be completely different than say, Mike Davis' or Fran Haring's. It's a product of our experience.

Just came across this topic and noticed that drummer Eric Landis (NJHoF) was not yet mentioned. Originally from Red Lion (York) PA, he went to south Jersey after the USAF D&BC. Judged and taught many NJ and PA corps including Crossmen.

Maybe there should be a separate thread about PA judges and instructors.

It could start it with these corrections to this thread: Jim Prime (Easton, PA), Joe Morella (Philly, PA), John Flowers, (Reading, PA).

Good threads, this one and NY. Brings back lots of memories of instructors, friends and colleague judges!

John Latko was another St. Vinnie's guy who ended up as longtime director/instructor for the Sacred Heart Crusaders from Manville, NJ.

The corps broke up after the 1980 season. John passed away in 1989, in his late 40s.

John also taught Emerald Lancers from Oldbridge.
