Recommended Posts

ALLIANCE Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce Joey Glaeser as Visual Caption Head for the 2011 season!

Joey Glaeser returns for his second season with ALLIANCE after serving as a high brass and visual technician in 2010. He is currently seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The University of Georgia.

On trumpet, his primary instrument, Mr. Glaeser has most recently studied with Mike Tiscione of the San Francisco Symphony, and has previously studied with Brandon Craswell, W. Fred Mills, C. Brad Whitfield, Edward Sandor, Mark Hughes, and Brian Reith. He has studied conducting with University of Alabama Associate Director of Bands and Conducting Randall Coleman, as well as UGA conducting faculty members F. David Romines, Michael Robinson, Tom Keck, and Gregg Gausline.

Mr. Glaeser has performed with a number of prestigious ensembles including the GMEA all-college band, the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band, the GMEA District V Honor Band and Honor Orchestra, the Fulton County Honor Orchestra, various concert bands, jazz bands, and brass ensembles at Milton High School in Milton, GA under Randall Coleman, Dennis Naughton, and Michael Barr. He has also performed in the UGA Redcoat Band, the Milton High School marching band, and three seasons with the 9-time World Champion, 19-time National Champion Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps where he currently serves on staff as an assistant tour director.

As a senior at Milton High School, Mr. Glaeser rehearsed and performed as a student conductor with the Milton High School Symphonic Band. As a student-teacher at UGA, he has conducted rehearsals of the Winder-Barrow High School Wind Ensemble and has conducted rehearsals and performances with the Hopewell Middle School Bands. He has taught marching and brass technique at Flowery Branch HS, Milton HS, North Springs HS, and Cedar Shoals HS.

Mr. Glaeser has worked in event coordination at US Scholastic Band Association marching competitions and Bands of America/Music for All’s Grand National Championships, Super Regionals, and National Concert Band Festival/National Orchestra Festival.

ALLIANCE Program Director Josh Matthews says of Mr. Glaeser, “his experience, attitude, competitiveness and, most importantly, the overwhelming positive feedback we received from the 2010 membership regarding his teaching methods and abilities, more than qualifies him for this new position with our corps. We are excited to see where he will take the visual program in 2011.”
