Blue Stars Switch to Jupiter

Recommended Posts

Explains why the crowds are smaller now days and stoic. Excellent post.

Laying declining attendance at the feet of Bb is disingenuous at best.

You can put the whole G/Bb thing to rest by asking the brass caption heads/ staff what *they* think of the change.

Yeah -- that about sums it up

Theres a video of John Hagstrom and fellow trumpetrs of the Chicago symphony playing pieces on instruments they made out of garden hoses and household objects, and it sounds great.

Its not the horns

There's a video of Wynton Marsalis playing the soprano sax, and it sounds like a trumpet.

It's not the horns.

I think some folks just need to get over it. The Jupiters are quickly becoming THE horn in drum corps.

Haha. Oh really?

Ask them what they think of it after the days of DCI are gone.

DCI is dying. There is no saving it now.

Drum corps has been dying for 75 years now, haven't you been paying attention?

Dynasty horns are still DY NASTY

You now, Ed, you rip on Dynasty, and you rip on Bb/F horns, but you are clearly forgetting that there's a corps in your very own DCA circuit that hasn't lost a show since switching to Dynasty Bb/F instruments over six years ago. And they've collected more than a few High Brass trophies along the way. Noting "nasty" about their sound, especially low brass.
