Conquistadors
The Conquistadors are excited to announce dates and times for their 2011 Open House. The event will take place on Friday night, January 28th from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. The venue will be the First Church of the Nazarene in Owego, NY. The Open House will coincide with our winter colorguard rehearsal. They will begin promptly at 5:00 as we gather for our introductions. The following schedule is a tentative look at how the evening will play out: 5:00 - 5:30 - Announcements, Introduction, Rules, Housekeeping, etc. 5:30 - 8:00 - Break into Sections (brass, percussion) and work through warmups, exercises, street beat and parade tunes 8:00 - 9:00 - Show and tell - Winterguard will perform their show after brass and percussion plays what they learned 9:00 - Final Announcements, clean up Brass players are asked to bring their own instruments no matter what they are. We are content with concert baritones and such at this point. We will have charts for G bugles, Bb brass, and concert brass so not to worry. We do have a trumpet, contrabass, and mellophone that can be borrowed. Percussionists are asked to bring their own sticks if possible. Drums will be provided. At this time due to our winterguard season being in full swing, the drum corps colorguard will not be rehearsing. Interested guard members are welcome to come to watch and pick up information. Take a moment to pre-register for Open House by filling out the form on the Membership Info page on our website at www.conquistadorswinterguard.org. We look forward to meeting you!
