Dave
They probably used the flat symbol in some font the browser can't render. I'm more curious about what a "singing bowl" is.
Soprano Martin
They probably used the flat symbol in some font the browser can't render. I'm more curious about what a "singing bowl" is. The Singing bowl is actually a really cool little instrument, sometimes called a rim gong. Its of Asian origin, mainly from the Himalayan region. Smaller ones are held on a flat palm and you dont grip it so it can ring, and the large ones simply sit on the floor. You take the mallet which is a stick and the outside of it is covered in a soft material; and run it in circles on the rim of it and voila! it begins to sing. I have a small one with my world percussion instruments in my music room. The elementary kids love it.

JimF-LowBari
$164 and $93 for shipping..... Always love that shipping cost from Timbucktoo.... Guaranteed to be in your kids hands by the time they retire. Someone gave us a trumpet from a place like this. Friggin' plastic valve guide kept spinning outta place. If you take the valve out to oil it you need a pencil to line up th eguide to get the valve back it.....
