JonW
I think these threads are primarily to generate interest and allow other directors to see who all is new and who's returning. The MAIN registration place is the DCP-I Fantasy League section of the DCP Homepage. Click the Fantasy League link and scroll to the bottom right corner to register. Once registered into the database, (I think) a confirmation email will be sent allowing you to select your tour schedule and caption entries. During the first couple weeks you'll be able to make several adjustments to your captions - but as the season progresses, each week you'll get to make fewer and fewer adjustments. This being a LIVE season, what happens in RL score-wise will affect your caption choices (raising or lowering your score). So, it is important to keep an eye on what is happening and make adjustments to what you think will happen. During the first three weeks of the tour schedule, corps will stay close to their regions (East, West, South, Midwest) and compete in Regionals before branching out to the rest of the nation. Finals this year are in Madison (W), Whitewater (O) and Green Bay (A). During the tour there also will be several special shows: Sweepstakes, Focus, CLASS Championships and FANFARE Championships - the tour schedule editor has these noted in it's listing. This being a Fantasy League, you as the director get to be as serious or as silly as you like (whatever happened to the San Quentin Cadets?). You get be as wealthy or poor as you like (you should see some of those buses coming out from Cali... woooboy!). Ultimately, have fun. I haven't yet looked deep into the other regions, but Midwest is looking to be mighty active (welcome aboard Cedarburg and Chicago!). Hope this helps and if others here see things I've missed, feel free to fill in the blanks
Galen
I think these threads are primarily to generate interest and allow other directors to see who all is new and who's returning. Yes and no. They also help me establish the corps' records in all of the "behind the curtain" stuff that goes into operating things.
