How good are the 2011 programs?

I'm not sure if it was Michael Caesario's doing or natural evolution or just random chance, but I think 2011 is shaping up to be a really special year in drum corps. I've enjoyed every single show I've seen, and some of the shows (Cadets, Madison) are just knock-me-out-of-my-seat incredible. I'll continue to wish for less synth, but that's generally a minor thing and so ignoring that, I just can't get over how amazing this year is shaping up to be.

I honestly can't vote yet. I haven't seen any shows live and we are still waiting to see a few corps. However, the twitter and dcp buzz seems to indicate that this crop of shows is something to behold. I'll see most everyone on July 23 at San Antonio. Looking forward to that! (even if it is in a dome. sigh...)

I've only seen theater and video shows but my opinion is that I like almost every corps show better than last year. The few that I don't are almost equal to 2010 AND it's only JUNE! This year is already my #2 only to 2003 this century.

Melody seems to be coming around more. I missed her. Melody is pretty. Melody brightened up by day. I was lost when Melody disappeared there for awhile and only made a sporadic appearance. She's back in the neighborhood again.

And she seems to be flirting with me.

This could be an exciting and unexpected summer after all.

Who knows... I might even get lucky by August if this Melody keeps up.

I guess its my fault for not using her in the past few Blue Devils shows.

Melody was young and impulsive. I chock it up to her experimentation years. She just got lost there for awhile, thats all.
