You just won the lottery and decided to have your very own drum corps show.

What corps would you invite to perform?

Mine would be (not in any order)

I'm not talking clean or difficulty but just pure entertainment from a corps.

Boston

Troopers

Madison

The Cadets

Bluecoats

Phantom

Cavies

Crossmen

For my own enlightenment, please: You say pure entertainment from a corps, and yet fail to list Carolina Crown -- voted Fan Favorite for several years. Of all the shows that try to connect with the audience this year, I think Crown's is in at least the top 8.

Would you please elaborate?

Thanks.

Maybe not everyone enjoys Crown's shows? Personal opinion and whatnot.

Also, to contribute (based on this year)

Blue Devils

SCV

Spirit of Atlanta

Cavaliers

Bluecoats

Cadets

Crossmen

Blue Knights

NICE post! This sounds like fun. Sometimes I have imagined this very scenario. I must admit that the yard in front of the home would cause some problems for the corps, but heck...they're professionals and what's a couple trees and some roots sticking up?

I think I would actually have the same corps as you except I would swap the Bluecoats with the Blue Stars, and I would have the Troopers close the show! I might even have them play twice.

Here's a couple alterations to what DCI did that I would have at my show:

  • Free lemonade for everyone (unlimited and fresh squeezed)
  • A free roll of toilet paper for Regiment's show (to throw of course)
  • Each corps would have to play their instant Encore with a classic song (i.e. 1812; Clowns; Maleguena, Ghostriders, etc.)
  • Mass Encore would be some patriotic song (which I would get to direct). Don't laugh at me. I'm a sucker for brass playing patriotic stuff and I really love this country.
  • To finish out the evening, Mr. Hopkins would escort me to the middle of the field, serve me a gin and tonic, sit next to me and listen to the Scouts sing "You'll Never Walk Alone"
