kevingamin
Fusion corps bringing some African drumming and huge headgear to the field. Yeah, they're going full out on the African theme. Reminds me of the Bushwackers last year.
kevingamin
23 horns, 14 marching percussion, 9 pit, 12 guard, 2 DM.
MJH
Didn't this corps used to be Skyliners?
kevingamin
Brass line goes for it. Very aggressive horn sound. Tight, too. Attacks and releases are together and defined. Drum line is right there with the brass. Very tight sound (complete with cowbell for that African fever). Strangely, the guard looks less "African" without the headdresses. Kamarag
Frontline and guard are in the traditional african garb. Including the traditional African sequins!
kevingamin
Didn't this corps used to be Skyliners? No, but the people who started the corps were originally with Skyliners, if I understand.
MJH
I knew there was some kind of a connection there
kevingamin
Very nice duet during the second piece. Great opportunity for the horns to show their subtle side, too.
Kamarag
This is an example of a corps that should be performer over book in several captions. The design is weak, but good lord they execute the crap out of it. I just wish it was designed at a higher and more demanding level.
