Wow! The Yokohama video is fantastic! I'd not seen it before, thank you for the link.

I've not heard the Cadets version either, so now I'll need to go dig it up.

I've enjoyed most all DC versions of the tune I've heard (Americanos also played it, '82 I think?).

I blame it on owning the album "Everything You Wanted To Hear On The Moog, but was afraid to ask for". :satisfied:

I have to go with The Boys from Madison on this one, but that's just me.

Madison Scouts - hands down - 88 was my favorite version.

It may be considered blasphemous to say this, but I like Cadets 2003 the best.

Hmmmm, I like Boston's 2003 version better than Cadets 2003.

My vote goes to Madison 1988, followed by Boston 2003, and then Velvet Knights 1988!

This version:

Backed, so hard. This performance really captures the mood of the piece and brings it to life more than any other corps that's done it before or since.

Haven't seen much lately Jr corps side but off the top of my head Madison when they were kicking with both loud and soft dynamics... Can't think of a particular year but not that cracked with '78 IIRC.

Yeah I know it's the DCI side but if the Inspires are going to be mentioned, I'll say RI Matadors, One of the few versions of the song with Latin percussion... along with the screamin' sops.... There is a version on "that site" start of 1977 DCA Prelims Part 2. Not bad for ye olde piston/rotors and marching tymps.
