For a small show, Fondlesack... er, Fond du Lac sure packed a lot of entertainment last night. Four World Class corps, all over 79, within 0.75 of each other; Oregon coming out and smashing Open Class for one night; the three Class A medalists within 0.35.

Forward Dynamics, The Fastener Group, and Flying Babies Entertainment are going to be in a dog-fight all season, it looks like. Maybe we should form our own midwest consortium, called "triple forte" or something.:tongue:

It was one amazingly powerful evening! Great reviews in all the area stations (TV, radio and newspapers) - this region has been aching for something like this. One reporter likened it to "a religious experience".

Now we all get to light up Madison with our Magnificent Mass of Musical Majesty!

Toby previously owned WI until I took it from him. Then Forward came and took it from me - and Fastener smoked us all last season, so, darn right it'll be a dog-fight again!:thumbup:

Scores for today's events are up, and I do mean UP as a few corps crack the 81 point barrier. Congrats to Feenicks for setting themselves up as the front-runner going into Regionals week.

The next point increase is now in effect (147/112/82).

Super Sunday is over, and we roll into Regionals week as a new corps, the Thoroughbreds, join the circuit.

Western corps get their first taste of Canada as they visit Empire Field in Vancouver, a temporary stadium erected for the city's soccer and football clubs while BC Place Stadium underwent a major renovation.

Eastern corps remain in the Boston area with a show at Veterans Stadium in Quincy.

Midwest corps travel to the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis as they compete at Hart Park.

And Southern corps visit Carolina Crown's hometown with a show at Nation Ford HS in Fort Mill.

The Wisconsin contingent was very strong in West Allis last night, but it was The Knights coming out with the overall high score in Quincy after a couple of disappointing shows last week.

As western corps have a day off for rehearsal and travel, Midwest corps head to the Chicago area. They'll be competing at Evanston Township HS tonight.

Southern corps head to tobacco road for an event at Durham County Stadium in Raleigh.

And Eastern corps venture to the smallest state in the country for an event at Cranston Stadium in Providence RI. ProvidenceRICranstonStadium5000.jpg

Here's the dirt on today's shows (which should actually just be wrapping up):

After a day off, western corps get back on the field for their last show before regionals at the tiny Thompson River University stadium.

Southern corps are at Stagg Stadium in Salem VA. Normally this is a pretty popular show venue- I'm a little puzzled at the low turnout.

Eastern corps (and possibly some of their southern brethern) are in action at New London HS in southeastern Connecticut. Although the turf is new, the bleachers are still as off-center as they have been in the past.

And Midwest corps travel to one of the best small stadiums ever built- Ames Field in Michigan City IN.

Today is a "finish line Thursday" for three groups of corps looking to get one last strong performance under their belts before regionals begin tomorrow.

The Warren MI event will take place at Seaholm Stadium in nearby Pontiac due to a last minute change of venue.

Southern corps make their traditional visit to Sevierville TN.

And eastern corps visit the campus of RPI near Albany NY.
