Galen
Dear Spirit of Kim Jung il, This is a redundant rules change. Sincerely, DCI Dear The Spirit of Kim Jung Il, Stop stealing my ideas! Signed, Martha Stewart.
jonnyboy
You don't need a rule change for something that isn't already against the rules. I think if any of the OPs ideas really worked, there are three drumcorps that would be doing them already do ensure the gold medal advantage. bluecoats88
While few westerners have witnessed the intense power of a North Korean drum corps performance, its beauty lies in its discipline. Oprah Winfrey once described it as soul nourishing. This proposal brings that spirit to western drum corps. Our power of freedom and technology is both a blessing and a curse. With this proposal, we allow our spirit to fly with clear direction and purpose, achieving the ultimate quenching of our marching arts desires. you know the North Korean drum corps competed once, acheived a near perfect score, and didn't feel the need to ever compete again. argonaut
This is a picture of the type of control units the drum corps of North Korea use. This unit controls the shock collars and tracking devices during full corp practice sessions. Drum majors are typically the ones running the unit, under the guidance of the instruction staff. These units are some what costly, but are worth it when you see the increased levels of performance.

argonaut
It should be noted that Yamaha music, Microsoft in cooperation with the federal bureau of prison, are in the process of developing a much more compact unit. With the inevitable passage of this proposal, many companies are scrambling to get something available by 2013. Yamaha should be testing their prototype sometime this fall. Something tells me it'd be beyond controversial. But it'd only be controversial because we couldn't figure out why we didn't do it sooner!
