Starting from the beginning

Madison 1975- Slaughter. That opening hit was crazy

Whichever year SCV hid the Bottle Dance until Finals (1979?)

Madison 1988- Malaguena, coming from the mello solo to the end

SCV 1989- Music of the Night, so great

Phantom 1993- Estancia

Madison 1996- first impact

BD 1996- first note

BD 1998- the chorale during Cool/Maria

Madison 1999- JCS (where it just comes out of silence, and pushed the stands back)

Phantom 2002- First note

Cadets 2003- Rocky Point Holiday

Cadets 2007- An amazing show, and that hornline was crazy loud

Crown 2008- First impact

Of course everyone's already covered the famous and the legendary... might I present a few that perhaps are lurking further back in your memory stores?

1992 Blue Devils - Everyone remembers "When A Man Loves A Woman", but there were a ton of great impacts in that Harry Connick Jr. opener (Blue Light, Red Light)

1993 Phantom Regiment - "The Landworkers" opener

1994 Cavaliers - end of the "Sensemaya" opener

1995 Phantom Regiment - the big power chord in the middle of the show (the fanfare/prelude to the Piano Concerto percussion feature, just after the Paganini Rhapsody)

1995 Glassmen - First hits of Bach's "Little Fugue" to start the show

1997 Phantom Regiment - "Hagen's Call" opener

1997 Crossmen - about a dozen great hits in the only good version of "Birdland" I've ever heard

1998 Santa Clara Vanguard - "Grohg" opener

1999 The Cadets - bunches and bunches in the first half of the show ("The Big Apple")

1999 Glassmen - the brass park and bark fanfare in the "Hary Janos" closer

2000 Blue Devils - "North by Northwest/Man Who Knew Too Much" closer

2000 Phantom Regiment - "Jeux" opener

2000 Glassmen - the big push in the Gershwin Concerto closer

2000 Madison Scouts - huge brass hits after the percussion feature in the "Taras Bulba" closer

2001 Santa Clara Vanguard - "The Alarm" opener (I don't recall this being mentioned yet; how can you forget it!)

2002 Blue Knights - Barber's "Piano Concerto" closer

2003 Santa Clara Vanguard - "Anima Mundi" feature in middle of show

2004 Santa Clara Vanguard - opening hit of "Scheherazade" is one of the best ever

2004 Phantom Regiment - big push in "Tres Minutos con la Realidad" closer

2007 Phantom Regiment - the last big hits in "1000 Airplanes on the Roof" opener

Okay, here are two that no one has mentioned and both are from Star.

Star '87 - The end of "Thunder and Blades" is really REALLY loud. Actually there are some REALLY loud moments to that whole show...

Star '88 - The "Bess, You is my Woman Now" quotes were always really loud. The end of "The Hurricane" was always really loud too.
