Dublin Does Drum Corps

Recommended Posts

Horns build into the jam session of Earth Song. Trumpets up front doing a little foot stomp in time with the music. Now the whole horn line joins in. Trumpet soloist wails as we go into the final hit of the opener!

Nice horn snap as the horns come in for the second piece. Great groove and attitude from the corps tonight. Crowd likes.

Half the flags are on tiger spot flags, other half on zebra stripe flags. Very environmental. :D

Mello solist micced. It's weird to see him/her playing away from the crowd yet hearing the full sound of the horn.

Drum feature finished, horns now building into the end of the piece.

Now for the main drum feature, full of alarms and chaos.

Drum line now on the 50, all facing back field. Horns lying on the field, slowly getting up. Baritones come in first, such a lush sound, joined by tubas, and now the rest of the horns.

It's nice to see more than 12 finalist caliber corps. Horns on a SLOW company front, just belting out sound. Baritone duet coming out of the front before the horns come back in full force and build to a climax. Great musical moment.

Into the closer now. Snares playing ride cymbal. Nice to see a drum line doing that again. A very jazzy moment, also nice to hear again.

Guard flags have various ecological symbols on them, can't tell some of them since they're in constant motion.

Pit having a great moment just jamming as the horns play backfield for a bit.

Building into the cross with the trumpet screamers up front. Love that they hold just short of the cross form to really build tension.

Man, this horn line is sweet sounding tonight!
