Bocook really shines in this kind of "knitting together" that we do in our idiom . . .his transitions are some of my favorite ever (of course, I cut my teeth before I knew what drum corps was listening to his stuff for marching band on the Jensen LPs in the 80s . . .god, I'm old. ). His marching band stock charts are excellent too. While they are written in such a way that you can teach them without a staff, but you can mess around with them to make great competitive band shows. I do wish he'd write his corps stuff to feature the low brass a bit more. His stuff for Cadets and when he wrote for the Reading Buccaneers tended to sound skewed towards middle and hi brass.
