glory Posted August 31, 2012 Share Posted August 31, 2012 It's difficult to write effective drill for corps that wear white/cream. I've always thought May tried to write drill that's too similar to Sacktig's (who actually can write effective drill) but failed (too much movement for movement's sake). Plus, his guard staging isn't great and Crown's marching technique combined with too much movement makes them Gumby-like when they try the difficult drill moves. Sorry if it makes me sound like a noob, but why is cream more difficult? And I agree on the guard staging. Several of us remarked last summer that we "missed" the guard. Several of us remarked last summer that we "missed" the guard. HH White and colors closest to it are aggressive to the eye and stand out. Any flaws would be magnified 1000x's over.
