Prelims to Finals additional players?

Recommended Posts

So I noticed Donny Allen joined the White Sabers tonight and Joey Pero in Empire. I am a relative newbie so I'm going to ask, who were the other two out front for Empire and were there any others I didn't notice? :lookaround:

I was in the tunnel with Kidsgrove waiting to go on... but The three additions to Empire solo group who I saw were:

Joey Pero - soon to have his own show in Vegas beginning mid-December

Mike DiMeo - long time Syracuse Brigadier instructor/performer and well Known Band Director/Judge in upstate NY and for those as old as me - Mr. Utica Yankee

Dave Seeley - long time Statesmen and current brass instructor and former Rochester Patriot...

and listening from the side - You go David... sounded fantastic!

Thanks Tom! :worthy:

I remember seeing Mike DiMeo from my early trips to DCA's in the 90's but didn't know the name. And if my memory hasn't totally fooled me, didn't Dave Seeley play screaming Mello beside Donny Allen during the same time period?

While the mind is the first thing to go, I believe David has always played lead all the way back to when he was VERY young with my Patriots... His father now deceased was an all american judge who I worked with and respected and corps instructor from Rochester, Larry Seeley...

The mellophone you might be referring to is current brass caption head and great HS Band Director Jimmy Steele... and still out there playing all the mellophone solos...
