Measurement of Crowd Enthusiasm in General Effect

Recommended Posts

A modest proposal:

There needs to be a 'percent of babies thrown' sub-caption under GE. The higher the percentage thrown, the more credit. Notice this percent-based approach work irregardless of number of babies attending, so long as there is at least one.

And perhaps corps could rent 'stunt-babies' as a part of their souvenir sales, offering an additional income stream.

Solution:

Each corps stocks corps-branded soft baby doll toys at their souvie booth. You get one when you buy something or make a donation to the fuel fund. Take your baby in the stands with you and, at the appropriate point in your favorite show, you throw the baby on to the field. All the baby dolls are boxed up and counted at the end of each show, and the number is recorded. The dolls are returned to the corps souvie van to be sold again at the next show.

"Giving the fans a vote" could all be done with phones, apps, and ipods, but actually throwing babies (dolls) would be a lot more fun. Extreme audience interaction.

I wonder if some toy company would consider donating the dolls in exchange for their name printed along side the corps branding?

Obviously, if you don't think fans should get a vote, never mind.

EDIT: This is a joke, right?

I'm sure this would put the activity in the news.

Left-leaning news sites: "People have the constitutional right to throw pretend babies!"

Right-leaning news sites: "Throwing pretend babies will always lead to throwing real babies- this is an outrage!"

"Irregardless" is not a real word.
