1979 SCV Tenors

Recommended Posts

The high quads/low quads were in '80 (Stone Ground Seven).

In '79 they played Slingerland Trios (14-16-18") IIRC.

The 14-16-18" Cut A Way Trios were used in 1977 and 1978. In 1979, they used 12-14-16" Cut A Ways.

To the original poster: Good luck in transcribing Verdi's Requiem!

I know one of the SCV tenors from 1979. He's on Facebook - if you want, I can help you reach out to him. He may very well have some original charts. Send me a private message here on DCP.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't think that I did too bad for a horn player. :lookaround:

John,

If you want to be sure about the tymp size you may want to shoot JW Koester at SCV a quick email; J-Dub was a long-time SCV tymp player/section leader durinjg that era and on the '78 footage you watched (guy with glasses, usually on the left side of the tymp line.) He is on staff at SCV as their tour manager.
