The Phantom Regiment partners with Pearl/Adams!Pearl/Adams and The Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps are proud to announce the start of a new partnership commencing with the 2013 Drum Corps International season. With leagues of fans from all generations, and a tradition of innovative design and superb musicianship, Phantom Regiment epitomizes the Drum Corps activity. A perennial DCI Finalist, the Corps has twice been named DCI World Champions (1996, 2008) and is the 3-time recipient of the Fred Sanford High Percussion Trophy. Phantom Regiment’s impressive Percussion Section, matched with their all-time famous Brass and Color Guard presence has made them one of the strongest and most popular Drum Corps in modern times.

Beginning with their audition camps for the 2013 Membership, the Phantom Regiment will rely on Pearl/Adams for all of their Battery Percussion, Hardware, World Percussion, and Concert Percussion needs. “Pearl/Adams is incredibly proud to be partnered with the Phantom Regiment organization,” shares Dan Twiford, Marching Percussion Marketing Manager for Pearl, “They have always exemplified class in the Drum Corps community, and Pearl/Adams products will perfectly compliment what they do as an organization – top quality competitive performances and great educational programs for today’s and tomorrow’s performers”.

The Phantom Regiment is under the direction of Executive Director Rick Valenzuela and Program Director Dan Farrell. Leading the percussion staff is battery arranger and caption head Shane Gwaltney and front ensemble arranger Matt Jordan. “We look forward to playing on Pearl/Adams equipment,” states Rick Valenzuela, “Pearl & Adams have a history of providing great quality instruments, whose sound will fit the Regiment very nicely.” It will only be a few short months before the world will experience the Pearl/Adams sound featured in Phantom Regiment’s 2013 production for the first time. Percussion caption head Shane Gwaltney says it best for both parties, "I am glad to be a part of this partnership! Quality. Period.''

Interesting, Shane has been a Dynasty guy for several years even though MCM have been Pearl users for years.

Curious as to what percussionists think about the additions to the percussion staff

I'm not sure who is new from last year, but its a really solid staff. I'm looking forward to seeing how that program builds now that they've had a couple of years to adjust to a new staff.
