Drum corps in Philly

Philadelphia's PPL Park will be hosting the YEA event on July 6th. A nice stadium from all accounts, but I've heard some horror stories of the surrounding area.

There's no need to go anywhere other than the park and the casino. It's very easy to get in and out of as well, as long as you avoid rush hour.

And no sane reason, either.

Last I checked, there are no double-decker tourist bus tours of Scenic Downtown Chester.

I live 10 minutes away from there. Agreed, don't go anywhere exploring! The stadium and casino are relatively well insulated from the questionable surroundings.

This may be the most exciting thing to happen to me all week. I've always wanted to visit PPL, but yeah, I've heard horror stories about the surrounding area. Still, PPL!

Good stadium; a little upmarket from Rochester. Single deck on four sides. Seats 18.5k. (Designed to add a second deck.) Grass field. The sideline should be right next to the stands. Full view of the field from any seat.

There may be some good places in Chester, but I don't know where they are and would not be interested in exploring. Tailgating before the event should be OK in the stadium parking lots. I would plan on leaving very soon after the show.

I would worry a lot more about the corps warming up, setting up dinner, and the vehicles.

There are some bad areas in close proximity to the stadium. Just have something that indicates you support Obama and the locals won't attempt any harm! The venue is very nice and the sound will be intense!

Irony is this poster grew up a few miles from an urban area......
