They weren't last year. I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but (I think) the performance order at Minneapolis is based on last year's results. No idea how that will affect this year's results.

SpiritVet
Aye, and every other corps and their mother is going to be doing the same in the coming weeks. The question is if Spirit's new material matches up to everyone else's. I'm a homer, but I have a good feeling. Thing is, the past two years, our change days really weren't much of change days to begin with and we're mostly rolling into August with the design from June. This year, the design starts off even better than before (and arguably at a very competitive level to other corps), and now we're making changes to push it over the top. Regardless of how it scores, from what I hear from the gym floor, us fans will get a *real* kick out of the new closer!

91FSU08
We shall see. Scouts should be where they are, but they will level out. show is not very demanding. cavies are still riding their name... once a field brass judge gets in the bells of their baritones and mellos, they will fall in score.....I heard SoA at a rehearsal site and they totally changed their closer!!! Wow!!! Nobody can say they do not have any demand, it will be interesting!! I think that scouts show is very accessible and is visually very demanding!! I would agree with you that musically it is not as demanding as the groups scoring ahead of them. From what I understand there are efforts being made to "Beef" up the musical book for the hornline. The mellophone section for scouts might be the strongest out there this season and I see them being used extensively to increase the musical demand. I think the talent level, in the hornline especially, this year is better than the design team expected. Percussively speaking I think the book stands up well for the long haul. The one thing Madison has this year that not many corps have is an emotional tie to the show. No matter what happens with the green team from Wisconsin competitively, they will get a crowd reaction like no other corps this year.
