truman
Working nimrod The corps was reminded that the sword moment is one where NOBODY can beat the Regiment. Stood in a perfect spot to test that theory. The queen has arrived for the run!

truman
I have been wondering how BD Media has been getting some of the awesome "blimp view" video, a camera on a remote control copter was hovering over the battery field. So cool! Edited August 2, 2013 by truman

truman
Sacred ground, i have been coming to this place since I was a youngster for drum corps. This spot next to the stream, with drum corps warming up in the backround is one of the greatest places ever. I have so many great memories here! Florida Sun
Your vacation reminds me of 1973 ,a buddy of mine and I decieded on a Drum corps vacation. We left Ct, on friday night after he got off work around 11.pm .Drove all night to Marion ,Ohio for the U.S.Open not to be confused with golf .Booked in to a Hotel where the Audubon BON BONS where staying .Got our rooms and headed out to the staduim for tickets to Finals ,Preliums where going on and with out any sleep we headed in to watch ,Preliums where over around 4 in the afternoon ,back to the hotel to shower long over due lol. When leaving the motel the Bon Bons where warming up ,What a baritone line they could complete with the best of corps .They blew us both away with there power .Now looking for a place for dinner before the show ,we found a great steak house .I was impressed when they handed me a meat chever with the menu instribed on it .WOW Steaks where out of this world .Ok on to finals don't remmber the frist corps on .but i do remmber the 2nd corps Blue Rock .One thrid into there show the skys opened up ,the people behind us had light wieght plastic drop cloths and where kind enought to offer to cover as many rows of fans that the cloth would cover .must have been 20 to 30 of us under the cover ,Seating on metal stands with the rains pour down and thunder and lighting .Needless to say Blue Rock completed there entire show in this down pour ,the field looked like a lake .But the kids would not stop once they started. For all of us that stayed we gave them a great hand .The show was stopped at that point and reset for sunday afternoon at 4pm .I think they brought in Helicopers to help dry out the field .Finally a good nights sleep .Back out to the staduim sunday afternoon ,most corps where due up in Toldeo for the KEY to THE SEA .Needless to say it was a great show and after we follow everyone up to Toldeo ,which was backed up a day .Back to preliums in Toldeo monday .Finals tuesday .And then headed out to Whitewater Wis .for DCI Championships .When to 3 days of preliums in WhiteWater .Not seeking anyone corps more than once ,Back in thoses days there where enought corps to run preliums 3 or 4 days and never seeing a corps complete twice .Skipped preliums on saturday drove up to Madison frist time there .Only thing i remmber about Madison was the large amount of porn, shops all around the capital area,Guess we would have been better off driving up to the Wis.Dells ?Ok time to hit the road back out to WhiteWater for Sat,night finals .I was a huge fan of the Hawthorne Muchahoes at that time as well as Phampton Regiment .Our seats where on the 45 about 4 rows from the top of the satidum .It was one hell of a show and a great vacation .We had already checked out of our motel in a small town called Devils Creek?someting or other.Santa Clara won lots of people where hoping for a repeat by the Kingsmen but that was not to be .Time to get back in the car and head home ,stayed in Chiagio that night and drove home sunday got back to Ct, monday morning around 11 am best i can remmber. That was the crazyies drum corps vacation i ever had .between the three shows with preliums and finals i think we sat throught over 300 shows in that week .
