jonnyboy
I always love hearing these types of corps stories. Bravo to Surf, and all of the unsung actions corps are taking to give back to their communities.

drummergirl
The story made this current teacher who marched bass drum long ago and who is a huge drum corps fan cry.
Jeff Ream
in this crazy game, it IS possible to be about more than just the scores and placements. Surf and the organization show it yet again. I know I've posted about it on here in the past, but every year Surf opens it's truck, busses and rehearsal home to the TOB All Star Band, which marches in the Philly Thanksgiving Parade. the band is made up of students that compete in Tournament of Bands, a circuit that covers PA, DE, NJ, MD and WV. and all Surf asks for is a few minutes to talk about the corps..and usually it's more about how Bob Jacobs is a big band kid. Plus their attempts to help their home state after Sandy. Kudos Surf......yeah maybe you aren't in the title hunt. But you're teaching the kids real life lessons.
