sobe
? No. Part of the panhandle is in Central time. We don't count them as part of Florida ;)
N.E. Brigand
Florida only has ONE time zone: it's Eastern. No. Part of the panhandle is in Central time. This fact got some historical significance during the 2000 U.S. presidential election, when some television prognosticators announced the winner in Florida an hour before all the state's polls had closed. IllianaLancerContra
Indiana...why you have 2 time zones!?!?! GRR Because so many in the NW corner commute to Chicago - the want to be on the same time zone.
flammaster
Glad BDB didn't win. I could hear/see them spitting on the ground as SCVC was announced the victors. Classless... No your post is classless!!!!
N.E. Brigand
Has there been an explanation for SCVC's half-point penalty in World Class prelims, that put them behind BDB?
flammaster
you mean semi's? No they just got beat period!
drumcorpsfan4567
Actually, SCVC would have beaten BDB except for the penalty they incurred. Just look at the recap.
flammaster
There is no comparison! BDB's show was so intense it's not even funny.
N.E. Brigand
I saw both BDB and SCVC live twice in the last two weeks of the season. Both fine shows. BDB won the two contests I attended, and rightly so, but I could see how SCVC might catch up. Anyway, Michael Boo reported on his blog tonight that the penalty was due to SCVC warming up too close to the stadium. That's a good rule, but it's too bad no one enforces it during the season! Kansan
I'm happy for Les Stentors and Racine, but it's ridiculous that almost every single Open Class corps made finals! The meaning of that milestone is gone now. Either they need to limit the number of finalists to 8 or 10 or (preferably) do something to get more Open Class corps off the ground and in touring shape. It wasn't too long ago that Open Class needed three shows, and I know everyone wants it to be that way again. The Railmen of Omaha, NE are working on a Junior Corps comeback. I'm trying to get the Kansas Alumni(Sky Ryders, Argonne Rebels, Salina Silver Sabres, Cintinental Ambassadors, Frontiersmen and Plainsmen) thinking about getting a Kansas Junior Corps going again.
