Didn't the Blue Devils organization also have some difficulty trying to enlarge or replace their Bingo Hall...zoning restrictions, city approvals, lawsuits and the like???

I believe they had some troubles trying to enlarge it and renovate it, but I believe that it eventually went through okay.

Yes every time they would buy new supplies like mirror, PVC pipe etc to do renovation the new products ended up on the field....

It would be great to see a plan of action be put out by the board instead of vague we continue to work off debt statements. Unless there is a stated end goal of putting a corps back on the field it is not likely to happen.,

I think they have until the middle of September to announce something if they are coming back before members staff etc will all be committed elsewhere. Sure hope they can do somethisomething.

Shouldn't DCI be concerned or care. Are they trying to build an activity or create their top 12 and that's it?

DCI is concerned. DCI did a lot to help keep Glassmen a float. They helped them run there All Star Review making sure that show was scheduled to allow as many corps as possible to attend. They also gave then several next to 0% apr loans which they only asked for back only after it became apparent that the funds may have been managed. So please don't knock DCI, the organization has been doing what it can to keep as many corps a float so that the activity can stay alive. Instead of complaining about DCI how about all of us just do our part and donate and or volunteer for a drum corps near you.

There was a Native American run casino/bingo hall opening up in Concord, and BD had some petitions put out that put a stop to it, because it would have ruined their main source of income.

Not exactly... was a corporate bingo chain from out of state.

Some zoning/permit challenges related to expanding to additional locations, not with the main hall, not in Concord.

Ah, didn't know it was a corporate chain. Thought it was a normal Native American bingo hall opening up

And chairs. You forgot the chairs. Little old chain-smoking ladies need a place to sit.
