Cavaliers haven't named much in music but the just announced they're playing the music of Shostakovich, Saint-Saens, Mahler, Purcell and "A Walk on the Water" by Stephen Melillo.

Awesome. I always love hearing Mahler on the DCI field. I had hoped that we would see some Mahler this year and I'm glad to see we will. Can't wait to see what they chose.

Thank you. Updated the OP. The Melillo tune is actually on Spotify, so it has been added to Playlist.

Sorry for the delay everyone. I was out of the country on business.

Are you sharing info that you're supposed to be sharing? Just wondering. :-)

Yes, its fine. The christmas medley is for an off-season performance - it has nothing to do with the show. We're learning it to build brass fundamentals during camp, though.

Is it just me, or does that seem like an underwhelming announcement? Looking at the PR Facebook, it seems like some cryptic show hint. But DCI took the ball and ran it as "Show Announcement." Strange.

Original Post updated.

I'm betting the Purcell that The Cavaliers are using is "Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary." And by betting I mean hoping. And by Purcell I hope they mean the version arranged by Steven Stucky.
