Looks like there's another new drum corps starting up.

Looks interesting. I also like the diversity of ages and judging from the photos, the kids seem really enthusiastic, and since they plan on recruiting locally, they have my support. And if they compete in Open Class and make it to the New England shows CYO, Beanpot, Bristol, CT Drums and Manchester all have OC activity), they'll get a warm welcome.

This has always been a show band style parade drumline here is Columbus. It's going to be some time for them to build up an infrastructure to be competitive in a corps style if that is their long term goal.

That being said, if they are serious, SoundSport would be a good way to get their feet wet.

Thanks for noticing, we are very excited for what the new year is bringing for the group! We will be competing in Sound Sport and Drumline Battles this season, last year we competed in Drumline Battle as well as many showcases and other events in the community.

As some of you have noticed, we have had a show style drumline in Columbus for 11 years now, and have had success in that medium, and are excited to expand the program. Our dance team has been working for several years now and our new brassline has already had its first performances, and is preparing for the future. As a new soundsport team with a show style backgound part of our goal is to combine traditional show style elements into design with corps style elements and also military style elements to produce a truly unique expirience. Our staff is very diverse, with many years in CYO corps, DCI, DCA, WGI, Military Bands, HBCU bands, and other show style ensembles

We are very much so open to members of all ages, currently the youngest member is 8 and has been on the drumline for 2 years, and the oldest member currently is 27 in the hornline.

We will have our open house on December 14th at Africentric High School in Columbus. We have openings in all sections, and look forward to seeing lots of new faces there in dance, brass, percussion and conductors.

I live in Columbus and know the Director, Marshall Cheathum. He's been leading the Saints drum line since their inception 11 years ago and is committed to making the drum & bugle corps a locally focused group. If the corps is anywhere near as successful as the drum line has been - both competitively, as well as with developing their members; most of whom have no other outlet - then this corps will be fantastic.

Best of luck, Saints!

Thanks! We are very excited, and this is something Marshall has been working towards for years. It's going to be a fun year!
