bones
Congrats to Bluecoats on a fantastic, breathtaking, and ground-breaking show. This is one for the ages, that we will talk about 10, 20, 30 years from now. The concept, execution, finals-week surge, crowd-reaction & support are all amazing. So glad I had the opportunity to see it live during the season. Congratulations to all the performers, staff, volunteers, and others who made it all happen. You have vaulted to another level, and we are all the better for it. Revel in your success and achievement. I'm going to go back and watch it again... Also, if you haven't seen it yet, have a listen to the July 2nd DCI Field Pass where Bluecoats Program Coordinator Dean Westman discusses the show in detail, including the famous pitch-bend. It's a fantastic interview! Safe travels home to all. BLOOO!

Overhype
MUSIC FIRST!!! Not visual. Not theme. Not concept. Not storyline. Not props. Not narration. Thank you, Bluecoats, for your wonderful show. I have to say that I'm glad that Dean Westman is self-admittedly not a good storyteller. I truly believe that much of the popularity of your 2014 show is that the (excellent) musical design came first, and that the rest of the show was apparently built around that. This approach was the norm 20+ years ago, and I hope that "Tilt" is a game-changer in that regard. I really hope that the activity's general design focus returns to music in the coming years. Congratulations on a wonderful show and a wonderful season. Edited August 13, 2014 by Overhype
