RContra
Depends on the generation you're asking. To me, The Cavalier's "Niagra Falls" is infinitely more "iconic" than anything in the 70s or 80s. It's the show that kicked off the "modern" era of DCI (man, that's too many quotation marks...). Absolutely. Its all experience, time horizon, and so forth, no question about it. I can certainly appreciate why the single year of performing " Niagra Falls" would be considered iconic to some newer fans, but iconic to another person would be the same Corps.. at at different time frame,... utillizing some compo of " Somewhere/ I'm Always Chasing Rainbows " no less than17 YEARS ( perhaps more ) in competiitive competition. Its all experience, time horizon, and so forth, as mentioned. Edited January 20, 2014 by BRASSO
Pete Freedman
The OP used the word legacy, so I resisted the temptation to mention The Cadets' (Aw, hell, Garfield) Rocky Point Holiday (82 and 83). 83 was the year the East finally took it all, so for me it's kind of an anthem of the East. But anyway, there it is.
Bsader
Boston's - Conquest 27th's - Danny Boy SCV - Bottle Dance Yes, a Boston boy putting 27th right next to us. Well, right below us anyways. I, like a few others, am connecting the iconic song with a particular Drum Corp as opposed to listing the music on it's own merit.
