theCHEZman
Both were initially known for their great brass and there are some common staff who marched/taught STAR who moved to CROWN. Overall CROWN clearly has their own identity. It could be argued that their are similarities between CADETS and CROWN also. There is/was a very large contingency of ex-Cadets members/staff teaching Crown for a few years.

snaredude08
I've noticed that, for whatever reason, when this subject comes up, people seem to get themselves all bent out of shape over this comparison being made. People seem to say "OMG STOP TRYING TO TAKE AWAY FROM CROWNS SUCCESSES" and I don't really get why people think that's what's going on here. Comparing Crown to Star is a compliment, point blank.

Ghost
Who the hell is Star? Maybe they're thinking of Blaze Starr. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaze_Starr
Stu
name: star and crown... state included in name multiple uniform designs great brass new kids on the block New Kids on the Block? Crown has been a part of DCI for 24 years, 18 of those years were in the WC top 12, and 6 of those years in the WC top 5. Other than accomplishing their first Gold Medal this past year, how are they even remotely considered New Kids on the Block?

BRASSO
Who the hell is Star? North Star perhaps ? They were a beloved Corps that came onto the scene, were very innovative, entertaining as all heck with their brass, went thru multiple uniform designs, but unfortunately are no longer with us. Both the North Star and the Star of Indiana were terrific Corps that regretably are no longer found competing at Finals Nite anymore and that many fans of both these Corps really miss to this very day.
