Conviction Tossed in 1993 Drum Corps Member Murder

This is kind of tangental to the article, but does anyone know anything about this "Phaze" drum and bugle corps? Were they already established, or were they trying to start up? Did they make it to the field after this?

Hi Mike!

Phaze was active under that name for just the 1994 season. They merged with Spirit of St. Louis Jr. and the unit was called

Spirit of St. Louis/Phaze in both 1995 and 1996.

I remember being at a show w/ Spirit of St Louis, sometime around 4 Jul 1983. Their show was pretty rough, but the judges were kind and scored them in the low 40's (back in the tick era). So everyone above scored a lot higher - we were in the low 80s, Dutch Boy won w/ a 93 or so that afternoon.

At an evening show that same day somewhat nearby (Chicago western suburbs somewhere) we were back in the 40s, Dutch boy in low 60's, and all was well. That might be some kind or record for largest score drop in a single day.
